* As stated in my previous post, here is the review for the second book, this one originally written on July 6th 2012. Un-edited, here it is!"
I have been putting off writing this post. My review of the first Fifty Shades book was pretty intense and I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised by this second one. This one had alot less of the "Smart Word Dump-load" that had so annoyed me in the first book; AND you'll be happy to know that the sex scenes got alot better to! Although not enough to make my heart race with excitement. Christian still says "Baby" alot, so much in fact that it's kind of weird. In this second installment Christian becomes so much more broken and mushy and to be honest it's kind of off-putting.

I won't say what happens in the book but lets just say that their relationship goes from non-existent to turbo charged NOS right through the usual relationship steps. I liked this book alot more than I liked the first one, however I still feel like it has a lot of short-comings. The authors writing improved but not enough to make me a fan. A friend and I were talking the other day and we both seemed to agree that there is a weird trend of books being published that really shouldn't be published, and yet the books seem to explode onto peoples coffee tables and book stands. I wonder, who exactly chooses books to be published? why are these books becoming so popular when the authors have no talent?
I feel that although this series is insanely popular it really should never have been approved for publishing, What ever numskull approved this author should be fired, there is so much work to be done on this series. This book was a tad bit more juicy but it was also rushed. The plot line should have been drawn out a bit more but instead it felt like she squashed months of plot line into a few weeks. The author obviously did not put much thought into this book, it's like she took whatever came into her head and vomited it onto paper. The first book was a week timeline drawn out unnecessarily, and this second one was a couple weeks' timeline when it should have been a couple months' timeline, and made into a medium sized book, instead of a larger one.
This author really frustrates me and I can honestly say that once I'm finished with this series I don't think I'll ever read another novel written by her, if I ever do she'll have to improve drastically, with a capital D. I had to take a few days off from the series, I just couldn't bring myself to start the third book, which has been sitting on my coffee table for the last few days. I feel kind of depressed by the authors lack of talent, If someone other than E.L James (you know, someone with actual talent) had written these books I believe I would have really enjoyed them.
As it is the second book was left on an exciting note, so I really do hope the third one (hopefully the last!) will blow my socks off. So until my next Fifty Shades review, Happy Reading!
