Citrusy Exfoliation Mask

Hello!

So lately I have been doing some work with facial masks and I have been having so much fun with them! One of the things I love about masks is that you can create virtually any kind of mask with a few ingredients. The one I am going to share with you is one I did last night. I caution you if you have very sensitive skin you may want to omit the rice flour in this recipe as this mask hardens and is abrasive when you scrub it off with your face cloth. I found that after removing the mask my face was red in places however after rinsing and applying my homemade aloe Vera toner and moisturizer, my face was still wonderfully smooth and soft when I woke up this morning.

Citrusy Exfoliation mask

Ingredients:

1/2 FRESH squeezed lemon juice
1-2 inch piece cucumber grated
1 large spoonful Greek yogurt
1 spoonful sweet rice flour

* the amounts in this mask is a loose approximation, you can adjust them to your own needs and preferrences.

Mix all ingredients in a bowl, make sure the flour and yogurt are blended well. apply to clean skin. I say skin because when i make this i tend to have a lot so i apply it to my face, neck and my hands/ forearms ( who wants a nice face but old looking hands and arms right???)

Leave it for 15 minutes. It will harden. once your time is up take a warm wet cloth and gently remove the mask, be gentle, this may take a while. Rinse all the remaining flour bits off well anything left on will irritate your skin. Pat your face dry and apply your toner and then your moisturizer. Do you use a serum? apply that before your moisturizer.

then your all done! your face may look red and splotchy but it will go away. Remember when you do a mask you aren't putting make-up on after wards, when you do a mask make sure its on a day/night when you are free  and won't be needing make-up for the rest of the day/evening. Your skin will still be sensitive and fresh.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!

Look forward to my upcoming Soft Ginger cookie Recipe!
