Is perhaps the Healthiest snack out there! I L.O.V.E food... Especially the 'less than stellar for my waist-size foods.' Though lately I have really been paying attention to what I eat and whether or not it has a high calorie content, because after all, calorie in equals calorie out! I'm not a stickler to a calorie-less lifestyle but there seem to be some gems out there that I've somehow been over looking!
Recently I have really been re-enjoying apples. Especially gala apples, I love how beautiful, crunchy, and juicy they are, however there seems to be something missing when I eat them because I am always hungry after. Today I came up with what I am assuming is a popular snack that I've obviously never thought to do until now. Apples and peanut butter!
I know there are going to be a lot of eye-rolls, how could I have never had such a simple snack until now!? Although I will be honest. I do not use the popular varieties of peanut butter at the store. You see, I have always had a strong dislike of peanut butter, but knowing just how great it is for your health IF you eat the 100% natural kind, has had me in a bind for the last five years. what to do, what to do? A few years ago my sister mentioned that she LOVES Adams 100% all Natural peanut butter. Being the crunchy-case that I am I had to check the ingredients just to be sure that it is indeed natural...you may be pleased to know that I was ecstatic to see that it contains NO SUGAR! and best off all it is literally just peanuts and oil.
So today as I felt my tummy growl with ferocious hunger, my attention turned to the fact that dinner is just a couple hours away and what quick, small snack could I have now, so that I can have greasy fast food later? Yes, I admit it! I am guilty! I decided on sliced Apples with Adams all natural peanut butter. My trepidation was thick as I prepared what could be a complete tummy churning disaster. One bite and I was hooked! The Crunchy Sweetness of the apples slathered in the Rich, Smooth, (Healthy) Fatness of the peanut butter was like a revelation!
Oh dear readers I do wish I had a photo to show you, but I devoured it all before a photo could be taken!!! But of course you'll be wanting to have some of your own now won't you? Try this Dynamic Duo and let me know what you thought!
